Two updates have shipped since our 1.0.3 article: 1.0.4 on September 7, a substantial one, and 1.0.5 on September 15, a plain hotfix. Here is what actually changes.
1.0.4: two new sub-missions
This is the only real content addition. "Beyond Dimensions" is picked up from an NPC at Fisherman's Point, Mount Obsidian. Clearing it unlocks "From the Far Side of the Moon".
Fishing heavily reworked
- Fishing difficulty was adjusted at the Sunreach and World Tree fishing spots.
- The amount of items obtained now varies by bait type.
- The interface gains control guides, warning displays and a recommended equipment display while fishing.
- A "Fish Behavior During Fishing Minigames" option was added to World Settings.
Quality of life and interface
- Name search added to the Palpedia, and Work Suitability details are now explained in both the Pal status UI and the Palpedia.
- The default FPS cap moves to 120 on PC.
- Players, summoned Pals and Base Pals no longer catch fire when touching a player-built campfire.
- Cancelling work at a production facility now returns materials to your inventory instead of dropping them.
- Server admins can set a per-player building limit, and no-build areas were added around the desert Field Boss Suzaku and some mission locations.
Pals, items and assorted tweaks
- Summoned and Base Pals now prioritise skills expected to deal higher damage.
- The Echoing Flute can finally be dropped from the inventory.
- The Work Suitability level needed to gather Ancient Bark drops to 1.
- The Pal wanted by the Pal Critic changed: Dogen replaces Selyne in Sakurajima, and Faleris Aqua replaces Bastigor in Sunreach.
- Lapure's swimming speed was adjusted.
The fix that matters
A progression blocker was resolved: the World Tree Guardian would not appear later in the Main Mission if Panthalus had been defeated before advancing that mission. 1.0.4 also fixes several crashes (sorting Pals on servers, NPC dialogue overlapping with riding, a fishing spot disappearing) and two skill errors: Killamari Primo's Partner Skill Lv. 2 and Lv. 3 effects were reversed.
1.0.5: two display bugs
Released on September 15, 1.0.5 is limited to two fixes: terrain and building textures that could load at drastically reduced resolution for some players, and map icon filters switching themselves off after a respawn.
Our Paldex, item and construction pages will be realigned with these values at the next game data extraction.
