Legendary raids in PokeMMO
Raids are 4-player cooperative battles against an overpowered boss, started from raid dens (shrines) scattered across the regions. Six legendaries are permanently available: Heatran, Cresselia, Meloetta, Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion. Victory guarantees a 100% catch. Here is where to find them and how to beat them.
How raids work
- 4 players: form your group via a party link, or through matchmaking when offered. The battle is fought as a team against the boss (sometimes backed by adds).
- Team rules: all your Pokemon must belong to different evolution lines, and no two Pokemon can hold the same item.
- Star difficulty (★): the 6 permanent raids are 5-6★, the peak of PokeMMO PvE. Bosses cheat: huge stats, several actions per turn and unique mechanics at HP thresholds.
- Victory: guaranteed 100% catch of the legendary for every participant, plus raid-specific rewards. After a win, the raid locks for a while (up to ~3 months for Heatran).

| Meloetta | Anville Town | Unova | 6 ★ | Repeatable; considered the hardest raid in the game |
| Cobalion | Guidance Chamber | Unova | 6 ★ | Accessible after unlocking Mt. Silver (complete OT Pokedex) |
| Terrakion | Victory Road | Unova | 6 ★ | Accessible after unlocking Mt. Silver (complete OT Pokedex) |

Boss mechanics
- ~80%: sets Stealth Rock
- ~65%: Roar (forces switches)
- ~50%: +2 Defense boost
- ~40%: "Adaptation", it resists Ground moves
The strategy in a nutshell
The oldest permanent raid and the most accessible. Ground and Water attacks early (before the adaptation), a screen setter, healers and a plan for Roar. Mind Stealth Rock chip damage.
Detailed community guide (turn by turn)Cresselia 6 ★
Can also drop Lunar Wings (consumable item). See Cresselia.
Boss mechanics
- HP thresholds change its behavior (~75%, ~65%, ~25%)
- Very defensive: the fight is long, PP and healing management decide the outcome
The strategy in a nutshell
The community strategy relies on fixed damage: Psywave and Seismic Toss (Blissey/Clefable), a Bisharp Sucker Punch lead, Fake Tears into boosted Hex, healing berries, Light Screen and status (Paralysis, Attract, Toxic).
Detailed community guide (turn by turn)Meloetta 6 ★
Released on 12/27/2025, first cleared after 2 days of community effort. See Meloetta.
Boss mechanics
- 100%: "Protective Aura", you cannot use two moves of the same type in a row
- ~85%: "Song", only sound moves work (and boost their user)
- ~75%: "Tempo", speed boost (counter with Quash)
- ~65%: Trick Room (until ~30%, then again)
- ~50%: Relic Song, puts your team to sleep (except Ghost types) and switches to Pirouette Forme
The strategy in a nutshell
A two-phase puzzle with an Altaria ally (Cloud Nine): phase 1 alternating move types and using 4 different sound moves (Snarl, Metal Sound, Bug Buzz...), phase 2 under Trick Room with slow attackers (Reuniclus, Conkeldurr, Slowbro). Only attempt this raid with a turn-by-turn prepared team.
Detailed community guide (turn by turn)Cobalion 6 ★
Backed by Empoleon and Samurott adds. Justified ability, holds an Expert Belt. See Cobalion.
Boss mechanics
- ~85%: "metal shards" (passive damage)
- ~65%: contact moves hit last
- ~50%: Magnet Rise (Ground immunity)
- ~35%: Rock Polish (speed boost)
The strategy in a nutshell
Fire, fast: Typhlosion Eruption, Heatran, Drought Ninetales as openers, then a defensive Trick Room core (Jellicent Night Shade, Gastrodon, Slowbro) to grind the boss down. Beware Magnet Rise cutting your Ground moves.
Detailed community guide (turn by turn)Terrakion 6 ★
Justified ability, holds a Lum Berry. Earthquake / Poison Jab / Sacred Sword / Stone Edge. See Terrakion.
Boss mechanics
- 100%: "Progressive Adaptation" (it increasingly resists what you repeat)
- ~85%: Swords Dance
- ~65%: permanent Sandstorm
- ~50%: +1 priority on every action
- ~25%: Protect
The strategy in a nutshell
The "SwordInStone" strategy: Choice Specs Suicune as the main hitter, Reflect + Light Clay screens, Prankster Sableye Tickle to drop its Attack, and Gem finishers (Gallade, Excadrill) under Trick Room. Vary your move types because of the adaptation.
Detailed community guide (turn by turn)Virizion 6 ★
Backed by Gallade and Farfetch'd adds. Justified ability, holds a Liechi Berry. See Virizion.
Boss mechanics
- 100%: its moves gain priority
- ~85%: Light Screen
- ~75%: its type changes every turn
- ~65%: Swords Dance
- ~50%: Reflect
- ~25%: 5 actions per turn
The strategy in a nutshell
Defensive physical bombers that punish contact: Skarmory, Emboar Flare Blitz, Metagross Explosion, Gliscor Acrobatics, Rocky Helmet Garchomp, while a Jynx sets Lucky Chant, Reflect and Trick. The shifting type makes resistances unpredictable: bank on raw damage.
Detailed community guide (turn by turn)Getting ready
- Strategies demand purpose-built Pokemon (natures, sometimes 0 IVs, defensive EVs, egg moves) that are useless in PvP: plan the breeding budget with our calculator.
- Follow the strategy turn by turn with all 4 players coordinated (voice or written calls): a single mistake can wipe the whole raid.
- Strategies evolve with patches and discoveries: check the latest community guide version before investing in builds.
- To find a group: the in-game party link, your team channels, or the community "Raids Den" Discord dedicated to raids.
