Starting PokeMMO in 2026
PokeMMO brings five regions (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova) together in a single MMO with a server economy, PvP and events like the Shiny Wars. Here is the most efficient path to a good start, without the mistakes that cost hours.
Which region to pick first?
- Every region unlocks as you play: your first pick is not permanent. After each league, you travel freely to the others.
- Unova is an excellent first pick: progression is smooth, levels come fast and its Elite Four is at the heart of endgame money farming.
- Recommended order afterwards: chain the leagues of each region. Each completed league raises your obedience cap and opens new farming areas.
Leveling fast (and why it differs from the solo games)
- Your Pokemon levels are capped by your badges: no point overtraining, push the story forward.
- Fight every trainer on your route: experience is scarcer in PokeMMO than in the mainline games, and their money funds your Poke Balls.
- Use the wiki Pokedex for exact locations and the type chart before each gym leader.
- Check the rosters of key trainers: Elite Four and gym leaders run PokeMMO-specific teams, stronger than in the original games.
Your first millions
- The economy is the heart of PokeMMO: almost everything is bought and sold between players on the GTL (Global Trade Link).
- Before your first league is done, pick up and resell: items held by wild Pokemon (Nuggets, shards, berries) are your starting capital.
- Then head to the money hub: Elite Four reruns (~450k/h), passive berry farming and GTL trading. Combine one active and one passive method.
Classic beginner mistakes
- Spending early on cosmetics: save your money for breeding braces and farming items (Amulet Coin first).
- Breeding before understanding the system: in PokeMMO, parents are consumed on breeding. Read the IV breeding guide before your first breed.
- Ignoring seasonal events: events like the August Shiny Wars offer boosts and exclusive prizes. A beginner can absolutely take part.
- Hunting shinies casually: at 1/30,000, a hunt needs preparation. The shiny guide covers the boosts that bring the rate down to 1/24,000.
